At least 12 people died when a massive gas explosion ripped through a residential area in Shiyah, Hubei province in central China at 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Authorities say 37 others were seriously injured and nearly 140 people were rescued, but many remain trapped under the rubble. Authorities are not clear what caused the deadly blast.
