The FBI confirmed that another suspicious package addressed to prominent Democratic donor Tom Steyer was intercepted in California Thursday night. In a Friday tweet, the agency said the package had a “similar” appearance to the ones mail bomber Cesar Sayoc allegedly sent. “We're extremely grateful that everyone is safe and thankful for the exemplary work of law enforcement...” Steyer wrote in a statement. “These threats are not isolated but are a part of a larger assault on the norms that uphold our democracy.” Last week, authorities intercepted more than a dozen packages with pipe bombs that were addressed to Steyer and several other prominent anti-Trump figures and government officials. Sayoc is currently in custody and faces five criminal counts, including interstate transport of explosives, mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents, making threatening interstate communications, and assault of current or former officials.
