A convicted serial killer confessed to the murder of a Florida woman in 1982, claiming that “God put him on this Earth” to do it, according to deputies cited in a Thursday report from the Orlando Sentinel. Since investigators discovered 20-year-old Rosie Hill’s body nearly four decades ago, the case has been cold—but this October, the deputies report, 78-year-old Samuel Little confessed to the brutal slaying. Although authorities had long suspected that Little—who has confessed to more than 90 murders—was the killer, they lacked sufficient evidence to press charges, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said. They have also declined to press charges now that Little has confessed, because he is already serving three life sentences for murdering three California women in the 1980s.
