The video shows a portion of O’Rourke’s cleaning—but when a series of dental appliances are removed from his mouth, the congressman begins discussing the U.S.-Mexico border. “So I’m here at the dentist, and we’re going to continue our series on the people of the border,” O’Rourke said. He then introduced viewers to his dental hygienist, Diana, a woman who explained that she was born in El Paso after her mother immigrated from a small town in Mexico to the United States. Diana told viewers that the area surrounding the border is “a beautiful community” and that “we all support and love each other.” After O’Rourke lost a surprisingly narrow Senate race to Texas stalwart Ted Cruz, his supporters began looking forward to 2020. The congressman has not yet announced if he plans to run for president—but on Tuesday, he announced a nationwide solo road trip to meet voters across the country.
