In a candid Instagram post, Paris Jackson revealed that she’s five years sober after recovering from an alcohol and heroin addiction. “Hi, I’m pk and I’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict. Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism,” the king of pop’s daughter wrote on the platform alongside a video detailing her journey over the past few years. “Gratitude hardly scratches the surface. It’s because I’m sober that I get to smile today. I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory,” she continued. “I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance. I get to trust. I feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm. I’ve found that life keeps happening regardless of whether I’m sober or not, but today I get to show up for it. Here’s a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my god I can’t believe I almost missed it all,” she concluded.

A tattoo artist in Arizona has been caught under fire after inking a 9-year-old girl with the American flag. In an Instagram post published Thursday, the artist, who goes by Sosa, disclosed that the child had come into his parlor a year ago when she was nine asking for a tattoo of President-elect Donald Trump on her neck. He wrote in his post that he “convinced her to do a more patriotic tattoo” and suggested she sit on the Trump idea for a year to see if she still wanted to get it. A year later, the now 10-year-old returned for a touchup of her flag tattoo with Sosa adding that she “changed her mind” on the Trump portrait. In an interview with the New York Post, the artist said he’s been “getting threats” and “hate comments” since publishing the video. He added that the family came to the United States as refugees from Turkey and seemed to have wanted to honor their new home. In Arizona, the law permits for a child to receive a tattoo so long as they have their parent’s permission.

While cellulite is a normal skin condition that between 80 to 90 percent of post-pubescent women experience to some extent, if it bothers you, there are both in-office and at-home ways to lessen the appearance of dimples. Plenty of over-the-counter anti-cellulite creams and treatments are on the market (often infused with circulation and water-expelling caffeine as their hero ingredients), but not all formulas are created equal.

When applied topically, caffeine may help reduce cellulite because it stimulates enzymes that break down fat, resulting in a smoother appearance and may help draw out excessive fluids, which can cause puffiness and make dimpling look more pronounced. Right now, one of our favorite anti-cellulite lotions is BodyBlendz’s newly launched Anti-Cellulite and Stretch Mark lotion ($53).

BodyBlendz Anti-Cellulite Cream
BodyBlendz.

The hydration-boosting formula is super-charged with laxity-supporting and anti-inflammatory ingredients, including caffeine-rich green seed coffee extract to boost blood flow and reduce dimpling, skin-firming artichoke extract, and vitamin B and C-rich pineapple extract to lock in moisture and nourish the skin. Best of all? While cellulite is more common on the body than the face, this gentle body lotion is also formulated as a lifting and de-puffing facial lotion. Along with the green coffee-derived caffeine to boost blood flow and reduce fluid retention, it also contains niacinamide, a B vitamin that helps soften skin and combat dullness, and shea butter to plump up fine lines for a more youthful appearance.

If you’re looking for a multifunctional face and body product ($28) that targets cellulite but is gentle enough to double as face cream, BodyBlendz’s new formula will not disappoint. Need more convincing? Head to BodyBlendz’s website to check out the lotion’s seriously impressive before-and-after pictures. Wow.

Meghan Markle on Tuesday announced the death of her rescue beagle Guy—a dog the estranged British royal says she adopted from a kill shelter in Kentucky. In a video posted on her newly relaunched Instagram account, the Duchess of Sussex said she was “devastated” by the loss, sharing behind-the-scenes footage of her husband, Prince Harry, and her children playing with the tiny dog. Markle adopted Guy in 2015, three years before she married Prince Harry and relocated to the U.K. Guy was frequently seen in posts on Markle’s original Instagram account, accompanying her on the set of her popular USA Network drama Suits. Markle said Guy “endured a terrible accident,” and was hospitalized at a veterinary clinic for months undergoing surgeries. In one of the photos in the slideshow, Guy was wearing a full cast on his paw. Markle also said that fans can expect to see footage of Guy in her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. “I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss,” Markle wrote. “I think you may fall a little bit in love too.”

The Green Beret who blew up a Cybertruck in Las Vegas, hurting seven people, asked an AI chatbot questions to help plan the attack, according to the Associated Press. Police in Las Vegas said that Matthew Livelsberger’s activity on ChatGPT, an AI service which instantly outputs answers in fluent English to queries from users, revealed that he was inquiring about explosive targets, the travel speed of different types of ammunition, and whether fireworks were legal in Arizona, the AP reported. The attack happened outside Donald Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day. No one died except Livelsberger, 37, who shot himself shortly before the bomb went off. Last week, the FBI released a note written by Livelsberger, who dealt with PTSD from his time at war, that indicated his motive. “This was not a terrorist attack, it was a wake up call,” he wrote. “Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives?” He wrote that the country was “terminally ill and headed toward collapse,” adding that the problem was “feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves.”

A new year offers a clean slate to make positive changes. For many, that change is re-evaluating their relationship with alcohol and taking part in the Dry January movement, which is no easy task. From work events to gatherings with friends, alcohol is a constant. The relaxation and social buzz a glass of wine or cocktail provides is hard to beat, but comes with consequences like headaches, anxiety, and upset stomach the next day. If you’re looking for a zero-proof alternative, you can have the best of both worlds with Happi.

This collection of THC seltzers provides a light buzz without the hangover. Happi’s beverages are all-natural, organic, non-GMO, alcohol-free, and only 20-50 calories a can. The THC used in Happi is Delta-9. Delta 9 is naturally derived from hemp and is known for its soothing and uplifting buzz.

Raspberry Honeysuckle THC Seltzer (12-Pack)

Happi designed its drinks to mimic the onset of a glass of wine or a beer, so you feel the effects right away—around 15 minutes and last about two hours.

There are many drinks to choose from, but the Raspberry Honeysuckle is a clear fan favorite. It’s bursting with a sweet-tart berry flavor and a hint of honeysuckle. With over 140 reviews, Raspberry Honeysuckle holds a 4.9 rating on Happi’s website. Plus, in 2024, it won Gold at the L.A. Spirits Awards. Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber have split after three years of dating, TMZ reports. The outlet credits sources with “direct knowledge” who said that the pair called it quits around the end of 2024. They added that there was no bad blood between the couple, and that the relationship simply fizzled out. The model and actor first sparked romance rumors in 2021 after being spotted attending a yoga session together, per People magazine. They proceeded to confirm their romance in a red carpet debut when they attended W Magazine’s annual Best Performances party together in 2022. Gerber and Butler went on to attend several high-profile events together throughout their relationship, including the Met Gala, Golden Globes, and Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty. While the couple were privy to red carpet date nights, they kept their relationship private, with Gerber telling WSJ Magazine last February, “Honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible.” Representatives for Gerber and Butler did not immediately respond to the Daily Beast’s request for comment.

Peter Yarrow, one-third of the 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died at age 86 after a yearslong battle with bladder cancer, according to The Associated Press. Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers formed a Grammy Award-winning group that produced hits like “Puff, the Magic Dragon” while blending music and social justice activism. They performed at the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, and sang out against the Vietnam War. The group took a hiatus in 1970 to pursue solo careers, reuniting eight years later for a concert against nuclear power. Travers passed in 2009. Stookey, now the only living bandmate, said in a statement that Yarrow was his “creative, irrepressible, spontaneous and musical younger brother” who also provided him with “mature-beyond-his-years wisdom and inspiring guidance” like an older brother. While the band was on hiatus, Yarrow was convicted of “taking indecent liberties with a minor” after a 1969 incident in a D.C. hotel room with 14-year-old Barbara Winter. He spent three months in prison but was pardoned by President Jimmy Carter in 1981.

Laura Loomer Dares Meta to Put Her on Board

Conspiracy theorist and Donald Trump ally Laura Loomer has a request for Meta—to put her on the advisory board. Citing the company’s recent decision to scrap fact-checking on its platforms, Loomer said Meta could prove that it is “serious about changing” by giving her the board position. “Aside from President Trump and @RealAlexJones, I have probably been the most Targeted conservative voice by Meta,” wrote Loomer, who was permanently banned on Facebook and Instagram in 2019. She added, “They literally created a policy just to target my congressional campaign when I ran for Congress in President Trump’s home district.” Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday that instead of professional fact-checking on Facebook and Instagram, the platforms would rely on users, similar to X’s community notes. Zuckerberg, who was among the tech billionaires to bend the knee to Trump ahead of his inauguration, said the changes were to help remove political bias, a common complaint from conservatives. “We’re going to get back to our roots and focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies and restoring free expression on our platforms,” Zuckerberg said in a video posted on Facebook. Zuckerberg recently tapped Trump ally Dana White to Meta’s board.

Streamers Fought to Line Trump’s Pockets in Melania Doc Bidding War

Amazon waged a bidding war against fellow streaming giants Disney and Paramount for the licensing rights to a documentary about Melania Trump, according to Puck. While it’s unclear what the losing bids were, three sources familiar with the deal told Puck that Amazon forked over $40 million. Neither Netlfix nor Apple, the two other biggest names in streaming, made an offer for the film, which will be directed by Brett Ratner, who has denied multiple sexual misconduct allegations made against him. It’s not known how much of the payday will go to either Ratner or Trump. The flick, which Amazon has said will offer an “unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look at First Lady Melania Trump,” began shooting last month. The new documentary comes after Trump released her memoir, Melania, in October last year. The book revealed where the once-and-future first lady deviates from the politics of her husband, President-elect Donald Trump—like her ardent defense of abortion rights. Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, has been one of a number of tech titans who have seemingly aimed to curry the incoming president’s favor in recent weeks, dining at Mar-a-Lago and pledging $1 million to his inauguration.

Geoff Duncan, the former lieutenant governor of Georgia who supported Kamala Harris in the presidential election, has been expelled from the state party, he announced on Tuesday. Along with booting Duncan, the state executive committee demanded that he stop calling himself a Republican and banned him from state GOP events. The party can’t actually decide who calls themself a Republican, but the spat is the latest between Duncan and the MAGA wing of the Georgia Republicans. The one-term lieutenant governor was previously told to stop calling himself a Republican in August when he endorsed Harris and spoke at the Democratic National Convention. The party also announced they expunged his Republican nominations for lieutenant governor and state representative, and he is not permitted to run as a Republican in future elections. Duncan seemed to take the ban in stride. “Hard to believe this is a good use of time for a party that’s only got a limited amount of time to figure out mass deportations, world peace and global tariffs,” he said on X. The party also urged media outlets to stop referring to Duncan as a Republican and use “expelled” or “ousted” Republican instead.
