President Joe Biden plans to continue his streak of high-profile fundraisers to boost his shot at re-election with an event next month with former President Barack Obama and actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts, according to NBC News. The planned Los Angeles event will feature Clooney and Roberts launching a social media contest with the Biden campaign to engage grassroots donors, and the two will also let their names pop up in Biden supporters’ texts and emails. The event comes months after Biden hosted a fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall featuring Obama and former President Bill Clinton in March, which raised more than $26 million. The Biden campaign’s deployment of celebrity figures has partially contributed to its large cash lead over the Trump campaign, allowing it to build out its state-level infrastructure. The campaign also plans to host an event this summer with former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, according to NBC News.
