A white contestant on Big Brother has been kicked off the competition series after being caught on a live feed casually dropping the N-word. Luke Valentine “violated the ‘Big Brother’ code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur. He has been removed from the house,” CBS said in a statement. “His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show.” Early Wednesday, Valentine was talking to three other houseguests—one of whom, contestant Jared Fields, is Black—when he said, “We were in the fucking cheese room, n---a,” according to Entertainment Weekly. He then tried to laugh the moment off, attempting to cover it up by saying, “Dude. Anyways, we were in the fucking cheese room.” Valentine later told Fields that the moment had been “a little slip of the tongue.” Fields replied, “I don’t give a fuck.” Valentine then joked, “Well, I’m in trouble now... I’ve been in worse trouble.”
