Bill Burr is not done speaking out against Elon Musk, who he still can’t believe hasn’t been “canceled” after he threw up not one, but two “Nazi” salutes at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
It’s a “common sense comment that we shouldn’t have a Nazi” in the nation’s government, Burr said on The Breakfast Club radio show Friday. Burr was particularly critical of Musk’s “two-time Sieg Heil” at on NPR’s Fresh Air Monday, which he said he “refuses to believe” was an accident. Musk has compared his arm movements to the more ambiguous hand waves of other public figures, but has continued to downplay Hitler’s role in the Holocaust and make light of Nazism.
Burr also torched Musk over his mistreatment of federal employees. “I don’t understand why they’re so upset with this country. You’re billionaires. I think it’s working for you,” he said Friday. “Why are you going and telling everybody, ‘Justify what you do.’ It’s like, justify what you do! That piece of s--t car you’re making that the government financed.”
What’s almost worse, Burr added, is that no one in politics seems to be trying to stop Musk and those like him.
“What I don’t get is the amount of veterans, people in the armed services, that died to stop Hitler” who aren’t speaking out against Musk, Burr added. “This guy comes in, you know, and does that, while being an immigrant too which is—the whole thing, none of it tracks.”
Burr has called out Democrats with the same fervor he does Musk, like when he told NPR Monday, “This is why I hate liberals. It’s like liberals have no teeth whatsoever” in fighting back against neo-Nazism. He seemed more sympathetic towards Republicans writ large on Friday.
“I’m not trashing Republicans,” he said. “All Republicans did not Sieg Heil. That guy did and I was just amazed that all liberals had was one day of outrage. Then they’re like, ‘Oh, I guess that didn’t work.’ And I guess we just kind of move on.”
