As regular Real Time with Bill Maher viewers already know, every episode ends with “New Rules,” in which host Bill Maher grumpily chastises pretty much everyone about things they should or shouldn’t be doing. Sometimes, Maher transcends his grumpiness and gets to some truth, or at the very least, perspective.
In his final new rule of the November 14th episode, Maher takes American voters to task for the lowest voter turnout in 72 years. Countering usual non-voter stances like “Politicians are all the same” or “It doesn’t matter who wins,” Maher demonstrates the differences between Obama’s presidency and one by fictional Republican amalgam—and nightmare-inducing Photoshop-job—“Mitt McCain.”
