Birdman won big at Sunday night’s 87th annual Academy Awards, beating out Boyhood for Best Picture, and taking the awards for screenplay, cinematography, and Best Director for Alejandro González Iñárritu. Julianne Moore scored Best Actress for her role as a professor diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in Still Alice, while British actor Eddie Redmayne won Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. J.K. Simmons landed the first statuette of the night, Best Supporting Actor, for Whiplash, while Patricia Arquette won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Boyhood.
