Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) told the New York Times in an interview on Sunday that President Trump could be setting the country “on the path to World War III.” Corker’s comments come amid an escalating public feud with the president, which came to a head on Sunday morning when Trump lashed out at Corker and the senator called the White House an “adult day care center.” In his interview with the Times, Corker said publicly what many Republican lawmakers have only mused about in private. “I know for a fact that every single day at the White House, it’s a situation of trying to contain him,” he said. “Look, except for a few people, the vast majority of our caucus understands what we’re dealing with here.” Corker said the president routinely “tweets out things that are not true,” and does not realize “the impact” his words have around the world.
