Bodies Found in Swiss Glacier Thought to Be Couple Missing for 75 Years

Two bodies found in a melting Swiss glacier are believed to those of a couple who went missing nearly 75 years ago. Local police say the bodies were found on Friday by a worker from a ski-lift company near the Les Diablerets ski resort. Local police say it will take several days for a DNA test to confirm the identities of the recovered bodies, but the children of Marcelin and Francine Dumoulin believe it is their parents, who went missing in the Alps in August 1942. “We spent our whole lives looking for them. I can say that after 75 years of waiting this news gives me a deep sense of calm,” the couple’s daughter Marceline Udry-Dumoulin was quoted as saying in Swiss media. Rescue teams had searched for the couple for nearly three months before finally giving up.
