Boston MLK March Tackles Race in America

REMEMBER THE FIGHT

Thousands turn out for peaceful protest.

Well over a thousand people took to the streets in Boston today, marching in honor of Martin Luther King Day and to draw awareness to the many black lives lost at the hands of police. Just days after local activists made headlines by barricading a highway while chained to a barrel for the same cause, this rally was peaceful. Leaving from the old state house, they wound their way through a symbolic four cold, windy miles to the steps below the the current copper-topped state house, staging a mass die in in the street before it. Accompanied along their way by scores of Boston Police mounted on bicycles, they chanted slogans and recited the names of those they were there in honor of, including Michael Brown and Akai Gurley.
