Pop icon Britney Spears has checked herself into a mental health facility to help cope with her father’s illness, TMZ reports. The singer reportedly checked herself into a facility a week ago and will stay for 30 days. Her father, Jamie Spears, reportedly had two surgeries to “correct major issues with his intestines and colon” after his colon ruptured last year. Jamie has since suffered from complications and Britney is having a “really hard time” coping, according to TMZ. Britney reportedly put her Las Vegas residency on hold to take care of her dad in November, writing in an Instagram post that her father “almost died” at the time. “We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time,” the singer wrote.
