Actress Brittany Murphy and her husband, Simon Monjack, may have died from heavy-metal poisoning, according to a new report by the Los Angeles coroner. Murphy and Monjack, who died five months after the actress, both had 10 of the metals in their system at levels more elevated than what the World Health Organization calls “high levels.” “If we were to eliminate the possibility of a simultaneous accidental heavy metal exposure to sample donors, then the only logical explanation would be exposure by a third-party perpetrator with likely criminal intent,” the report reads. Murphy’s father had her and her husband’s hair, blood, and tissue samples tested independently after “vicious rumors” that she used drugs.
