In the aftermath of the twin terror attacks in Brussels that brought guerilla war to the heart of Europe, local residents, journalists, and tourists took to social media to share their photos of and reactions to the jihadist violence. “I love you all. Terrorism has no boundaries,” a Georgian wrote on Facebook. “I could never imagine that this could happen in my favorite city, which I thought was defended.”

ISIS extremists have claimed responsibility for the attacks that have killed 34 people and wounded at least 200 others. ISIS’s own news agency issued a statement describing the deadly assault, noting that Belgium is part of the international military coalition fighting the Islamic State.

Belgium’s prime minister, Charles Michel, posted in French, Dutch, and English on Facebook to condemn the attacks.

Here are images and video from the carnage at the airport and in the subway.

(Translated from Georgian) Big thanks to everyone. I love you all. Terrorism has no boundaries. Today I felt that myself. I could never imagine that this could happen in my favorite city, which I thought was defended. I love you and I am happy that I can tell you this. Number of victims is rising.
