Thanks to the increasingly urgent drought situation in California, the state’s restaurants and bars are now prohibited from serving water without a customer requesting it first. The State Water Resources Control Board announced the new regulation on Tuesday, making the practice (which had already been adopted by certain areas, including the city of Santa Cruz) statewide.
