California was hit by an earthquake on Friday after days of devastating wildfires sweeping through the state. A 3.7 earthquake was reported in the San Francisco area at around 7 a.m., with over 5,000 residents reporting to have felt it, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The center was about five miles away from the Golden Gate Bridge and two miles from the Great Highway, according to the Daily Mail. A 2.2-magnitude aftershock, followed by another at 2.5, came after the initial quake. On Thursday, another 3.0 magnitude earthquake was reported less than 100 miles away. No injuries were reported as of now. The earthquakes arrived as parts of the Los Angeles area have been up in flames over the past week, with many residents losing their homes. President Joe Biden wrote on X: “To the Southern California families impacted by this disaster: I know you are in a living nightmare. I promise we’re going to help you get through this and eventually recover and rebuild.”
