Calvin Klein is reportedly shuttering its high-fashion Calvin Klein Collection business after its chief creative officer, Raf Simons, departed the brand late past year. Page Six reports that the collection was launched in 2017 under Simons, who was serving as the fashion house’s first chief creative officer. As a result of the closure, a number of employees that worked in the division will reportedly be let go. The brand is also closing its Milan office. WWD previously reported that the brand was planning on relaunching its luxury brand under a new name, creative direction, and “altered design approach,” but Page Six reports that that no longer appears to be the case. Simons announced his “sudden” departure in December after less than two years in the post and eight months before his contract ended. He previously served as the women’s creative director at Dior and creative director at Jil Sander.
