A new fashion week, a new CR Fashion Book – and this one is slightly different than the rest.

The third installment of Carine Roitfeld’s namesake magazine features a pregnant Kim Kardashian on the cover, a spread of Karlie Kloss photographed by Bruce Weber, and a "tableaux of extreme indulgence" by Tom Ford. The issue is themed around the Barqoue painter Caravaggio because, as Roitfeld explains, "A Caravaggio is someone who creates something from nothing. Someone whom others follow."

But one powerful editorial features Roitfeld's first-ever turn as, surprisingly, a photographer. The spread is inspired by the famous 18th-century Italian opera singer Farinelli -- who was, interestingly enough, one of the greatest castratos of all time -- who Roitfeld deems, in Caravagesque fashion, a true rule-breaker.

But Roitfeld's spread, while thoughtful and grounded in history, is anything but antiquated: it features model Natasa Vojnovic reclining on a sofa in an assortment of Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, Miu Miu, and Tom Ford.

As Roitfeld tells us of her inspiration behind the spread: "Yes I was the photographer behind the lens, but it was really an incredible team -- including model Natasa Vojnovic, who made this shoot magical. It is my dream come true!"
