The International Air Transport Association, which would have shrunk the standard size of carry-on bags to 21.5 inches by 13.5 inches by 7.5 inches with its âCabin OKâ initiative, has put the new policy on hold pending a âcomprehensive reassessment in light of concerns expressed, primarily in North America.â The organization said a âgrowing list of airlinesâ have expressed interest in the program, which is aimed at reducing friction between gate employees and passengers. The IATA will âfurther engage program participants, the rest of our members, and other key stakeholdersâ before rolling out the program.
