‘Casino’ Actor Vinny Vella Dies at 72

Vinny Vella, who starred in Martin Scorsese’s classic Casino, has died at the age of 72 after battling liver cancer. “We are saddened to report that Vinny Vella has passed and I’m sure that no one is more saddened than himself,” Vella’s representative wrote in a statement Wednesday night. “Vinny loved life from his family to his friends and fans he was easily one of the funniest, endearing actors to have ever graced the screen.” Vella had 74 acting credits to his name, memorably portraying deli owner and mobster Artie Piscano alongside Robert De Niro in 1995’s Casino, and Analyze That in 2002. Vella also had roles in the films Donnie Brasco, Kissing Jessica Stein, Kill the Irishman, and Find Me Guilty.
