CBS will bring in two law firms to carry out investigations into alleged sexual misconduct by CEO and Chairman Les Moonves. Many were expecting Moonves to step aside or for CBS to suspend him Monday after The New Yorker published an article accusing him of multiple counts of sexual harassment and intimidation. The CEO admitted that in the past he may had made “women uncomfortable by making advances.” However, the network’s board is bringing in the firms—Covington & Burling and Debevoise & Plimpton—to probe the allegations, rather than take action against him immediately. The CEO will have no involvement in the investigation, which will reportedly also look into CBS News and cultural issues at all levels of the network. There is also speculation that 60 Minutes Executive Producer Jeff Fager may be replaced due to sexual-harassment allegations against him.
