CBS terminated long-time broadcaster Charlie Rose’s contract, effective immediately, after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment—including groping, appearing naked, and alleged retaliation for rebuffing unwanted advances. “A short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose’s employment,” read a company memo, sent Tuesday by CBS News president David Rhodes to network staffers. “Despite Charlie’s important journalistic contributions to our news division, there is absolutely nothing more important, in this or any organization, than ensuring a safe, professional workplace.”
