Moments after Eater broke the news that Mario Batali would take a leave of absence from his restaurant empire amid multiple sexual-misconduct allegations, his fellow celebrity chefs gave seemingly unsurprised reactions. “It’s Batali. And it’s bad,” Anthony Bourdain tweeted in response to the report that at least four women accuser Batali–who co-hosts ABC’s The Chew—of inappropriate touching over the past few decades. “And no one should be surprised,” added Tom Colicchio. Batali, for his part, admitted to the misconduct, saying in a statement that the allegations “match up” with his past behavior.
