The End

For Doors singer’s 1969 indecent exposure.

For politicians, the lame-duck period is a time to do the things you always wanted to do. Departing Florida Governor Charlie Crist used his swan song to pardon Doors frontman Jim Morrison for a 1969 conviction of indecent exposure, even reading a lengthy appeal on Morrison’s behalf. Though the concert where Morrison supposedly exposed himself and “simulated indecent acts” happened over 40 years ago—and Morrison has been dead for almost as long—the pardon met with objections. Angel Lago, a retired Miami cop, said it was “the wrong message to send the youth of this country.”
