It’s official: Orlando Bloom will reprise his role as Legolas in The Hobbit, the two-part prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy, director Peter Jackson announced Friday. Jackson credited Bloom with creating a “legendary” character, and then admitted, “funny thing is, I look older—and [Bloom] doesn’t! I guess that’s why he makes such a wonderful elf.” Despite being saddled with production delays, The Hobbit has an all-star cast that also includes LOTR alums Cate Blanchett, Sir Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, and Elijah Wood as well as newcomers Martin Freeman, Stephen Fry, and Richard Armitage.
