Police have arrested a former president of the University of New Mexico in connection with an online prostitution ring allegedly run by a college professor in New Jersey. F. Chris Garcia, a political scientist and president at UNM in 2002 and 2003, was charged with promoting prostitution, conspiracy, and tampering with evidence. David Flory, a professor of physics at Fairleigh Dickinson University, was arrested in New Jersey on Sunday for allegedly running the “Southwest Companions” website. Police say Garcia was a member of the site’s “Hunt Club,” which recruited new prostitutes.
