It looks like the Costa Concordia captain has quite the seamanship rap sheet. Francesco Schettino reportedly crashed another luxury liner in 2010 while sailing too fast in a German port, according to leaks from an investigation into the accident. In a letter published by La Stampa daily on Friday, Schettino's employer wrote of the 2010 incident that he "manoeuvred at a speed of 7.7 to 7.9 knots during entry into the port of Warnemunde, causing damage to the Aida Blu cruise ship." Schettino responded to the accusation in writing, saying he "did not know the speed limit and have not received notification of an infraction from the relevant authorities" and that there were "probably other factors" behind the crash. Schettino is accused of manslaughter and abandoning ship before the evacuation of more than 4,200 passengers and crew after the Costa Concordia capsized off the Italian island of Giglio last month, killing at least 25 people.
