At a briefing today following a four-year investigation, National Transportation Safety Board investigators reaffirmed their original findings that the TWA Flight 800 disaster was an accident and not the result of a bomb or missile, as a new documentary film suggests. More than 200 people were killed in the 1996 crash, which federal authorities concluded was the result of a center fuel-tank explosion. Joseph Kolly, a chief investigator on the team, disputed the film’s conspiracy theories. “We went to the ‘nth’ degree, and then some,” he said of the investigation. “I am upset about bringing this back up, for the sake of the people who lost folks in the accident.”
