The inventor of Twister, everyone’s favorite uncomfortable party game, died on July 1. Charles “Chuck” Foley was 82 and had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, according to his son on Thursday. Foley and Neil Rabens were hired in the mid-1960s to come up with a game that could be played on a mat on the floor. “Dad wanted to make a game that could light up a party,” his son said. “They originally called it ‘Pretzel.’ But they sold it to Milton Bradley, which came up with the ‘Twister’ name.”
