We miss you, Alice. Ann B. Davis, who earned fame playing the tireless maid who kept the Brady kids in shipshape, passed away Sunday. The 88-year-old actress reportedly slipped and hit her head Saturday and never regained consciousness. Davis was known to most Americans for her role on The Brady Bunch, but she earned two Emmy Awards playing secretary Schultzy on The Bob Cummings Show in the 1950s. Following The Brady Bunch, Davis became active in an Episcopalian community, but she didn’t ditch acting altogether. She even made a cameo in the 1995 The Brady Brunch Movie as a truck driver who rescues Jan. Though many American kids of the late 1960s and early 1970s feel they were raised by Alice, Davis said “I basically don’t do that well with children.” However, she did say she and the Brady kid actors “got along beautifully.”
