At least a dozen women and children who had been held captive by Islamic extremists Boko Haram were freed after Nigeria's army cleared the group's camps in northeastern Borno state, officials said on Tuesday. Military spokesman Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman said the hostages were rescued on Monday, but did not say where the women and children were taken from or the state of their condition. The army has rescued hundreds of those held captive by the ISIS affiliate this year, but none of hostages have been from the 219 girls kidnapped in April 2014 from a school in Chibok.
