An incensed Argentinian soccer player allegedly shot and killed a referee who sent him off the field with a red card during an amateur game. The referee, 48-year-old César Flores, was hit three times in the head, chest, and neck after the player grabbed a gun from his bag. Another player, Walter Zárate, was injured but is expected to recover. “It all happened during the football match,” a police officer told the Efe news agency. “We don’t know [exactly what took place], but it appears the player was angry, fetched a gun, and killed him.” The suspected shooter’s identity has not been released.
