In its first ever transparency report, the ride-sharing company Uber provided data on more than 12 million riders and drivers to U.S. agencies and information on 469 users to state and federal law-enforcement authorities in the last six months of 2015. The company said Tuesday that U.S. agencies requested details on trips, trip requests, pickup and dropoff locations, fares, vehicles, and drivers. Uber said it received 415 requests from law-enforcement agencies, most of which were state entities, and it was able to provide information in nearly 85 percent of the cases. The company added that most of the cases involved fraud investigations or the use of stolen credit cards and it had not received any national-security surveillance letters.
