A jury in Oregon has acquitted the leaders of the standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in January 2016. Ammon Bundy and six-co-defendants were charged with conspiring to impede federal employees during the standoff at the refuge. Four of the total seven defendants were charged with possessing guns in a federal facility. The standoff originated with the men seeking to have the federal land turned over to the state. Law enforcement arrested them in February after the standoff continued for a month.
