President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday attacked top Democrat John Lewis for earlier saying he was not a “legitimate” president. “Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk - no action or results. Sad!” Trump wrote on Twitter. Trump’s verbal attack comes after Lewis on Friday said he did not plan on attending the president-elect’s inaugural because Trump is not, as he said, a “legitimate president.” While Trump regularly attacks his critics on Twitter, Lewis’ status as a top Democrat and key civil rights leader has spurred talk of a potential standoff between Democrats and Republicans, with Democrats boycotting the inauguration. Six Democrats have already announced that they won’t attend Trump’s inauguration over concerns that he is not fit to be president.
