John Wick: Chapter 2 took in a steady $30 million for its debut. The Lego Batman Movie came in under projections but still made the top opening of the year to date; it was forecast to reach a $70 million debut. Fifty Shades, on the other hand, came in ahead of projections. Globally, the sequel raked in about $146.9 million in its debut weekend.
