The reigning MLB world-champion Chicago Cubs will visit the White House next week, five days before President Obama departs the office, breaking a long-standing tradition of teams making their trip during the regular season. The Cubs ended their historic 108-year World Series championship drought in a dramatic Game 7 win over the Cleveland Indians, and were reportedly hoping to make the traditional White House visit before Obama departed Washington, D.C, because of his Chicago background.
