Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday that while “we don’t want to see a trade war,” U.S. companies would bear the brunt of such a conflict. “Our hope on the Chinese side is that, no matter what bumps this relationship may run into, it will continue to move forward in a positive direction,” he said. Li told journalists that because the two world powers share such extensive mutual interests, their leaders should “sit down to talk to each other” to build trust. Several sources have reported that a meeting with President Xi Jinping has been scheduled for April 6 at President Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida.
