CNN Boots Trump Defender Ed Martin ‘For Cause’

Ed Martin, former Missouri Republican Party chairman and frequent pro-Trump cable-news pundit has been given the boot from CNN. He told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Friday that “CNN terminated me today for cause [...] Strange since they told me my ratings were great.” While there was no specific reason tied to his firing, Martin has been absent from the network since mid-December—shortly after he referred to the African Americans on a previous CNN panel with him as “black racists.” Martin had replaced Jeffrey Lord on CNN as the Trump surrogate after Lord was fired for tweeting the Nazi salute “Sieg Heil.”
