CNN has canceled Eliot Spitzer’s low-rated prime-time show, In the Arena, the network announced Wednesday. The 8 p.m. ET slot will be filled by AC360, Anderson Cooper’s newscast. Erin Burnett, who left CNBC for CNN, will launch her show in the fall at 7 p.m., with a repeat at 11 p.m. AC360 will re-air at 10 p.m. Spitzer originally joined CNN last summer as a co-host of Parker Spitzer, but that show’s poor ratings caused his co-host Kathleen Parker to leave in February, and the show become In the Arena. CNN/U.S. head Ken Jautz said that he was “in discussions with Eliot Spitzer for an alternative role” with the channel.
