A Minnesota grandmother who led police on a weeks-long manhunt after allegedly murdering her husband has been apprehended in Texas, authorities say. Fifty-six-year-old Lois Riess, described as a “cold-blooded killer” by authorities in Florida, was arrested in a restaurant late Thursday without incident, the U.S. Marshals Service said. Riess is also accused of murdering Pamela Hutchinson, a 59-year-old car saleswoman in Florida, before allegedly stealing her identity this month. Amid fears she was about to embark on a killing spree, billboards were displayed in five states seeking information on her whereabouts. She faces charges of murder, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and grand theft and criminal use of personal identification.
