One of the five people who survived Monday night’s deadly plane crash in Colombia said he is alive because he followed the proper safety protocols. “Before the crash, many got out of their seats and started to scream,” crew member Erwin Tumiri told NTN, a Latin American news organization. “I put my luggage between my legs to form the fetal position they recommend in accidents.” The crash killed more than 70 people, including members of a Brazilian soccer team.
