Comedian Artie Lange is entering a “long-term drug treatment program,” according to a tweet sent out by his team on Wednesday. “Excuse any show advertisements.. starting today, Artie will be undergoing a long term treatment program,” the tweet from his account read, according to NJ.com. “He loves and respects his fans... updates coming soon.. and it’s time.” Lange, who tested positive for heroin during a court appearance in December, reportedly has a long history with drug use. In July, he was sentenced to four-year probation for heroin possession in connection with a May 2017 arrest after he was allegedly found with “81 decks of heroin on the Garden State Parkway.” The former MadTV and HBO star also appeared to have a “flattened” nose during his December court appearance, which reportedly resulted from a non-existent septum due to “snorting heroin and cocaine” and getting punched in the face. “I had an altercation with someone that lasted a couple hours tops. It has been solved and forgotten,” Lange wrote on Twitter. “Everyone involved is fine. I got punched. Happens sometimes.”
