Conductor and composer André Previn died Thursday at the age of 89, his manager told BBC News. Previn was a well-known, Oscar-winning Hollywood star before he famously left the silver screen behind to become a jazz pianist. He eventually rose through the ranks of the classical music scene to become the conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra released a statement Thursday saying it was “deeply saddened” by news of Previn’s death. Previn was married five times, most famously to actress Mia Farrow. Farrow and Previn’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, is now married to Farrow’s ex-partner Woody Allen.
