Actress Connie Britton—of Friday Night Lights fame—has been cast to play Beth Ailes, wife to former head of Fox News Roger Ailes, in a star-studded film about the controversial news network. Actor John Lithgow will play Roger Ailes, and Malcolm McDowell is set to play media mogul Rupert Murdoch. The rest of the cast is rounded out with Hollywood heavyweights: actresses Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie will play Megyn Kelly, Gretchen Carlson, and an associate producer, respectively. The film focuses on the women who went up against the powerful Ailes to expose inappropriate sexual behavior and abuse at the network. The script was written by The Big Short screenwriter Charles Randolph. The film remains untitled and a release date has yet to be announced.
