The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide has topped 4 million, according to a tracker from Johns Hopkins University—although some countries, including China, are believed to have underreported their numbers. Officially, the United States stands as the nation with the most COVID-19 cases: 1.3 million, trailed by Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Russia. At least 282,000 people have died globally, nearly 80,000 of those in the U.S.
