Three snow leopards who fell ill with COVID-19 at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo in Nebraska last month have succumbed to the virus. The zoo announced the news in a statement on Facebook, saying the entire community is “grieving together” after the “truly heartbreaking” loss of the leopards named Ranney, Everest, and Makalu. Two Sumatran tigers were also treated after contracting the virus last month, but the zoo said they have apparently recovered.
