Thirty-seven of 50 cadets joining the North Carolina State Highway Patrol tested positive for the coronavirus ahead of their virtual graduation on Friday. The News & Observer reports that just four of the 37 showed symptoms, and the virus spread like wildfire through the group after one member fell ill during their nine week, in-person training at the academy. Nevertheless, all 50 graduated to become troopers.
